Reviews Overview

Most Liked

One standout feature at Likya Ocakbaşı is the quality of the food, particularly the charcoal-grilled dishes. Diners rave about the mixed grill that showcases a variety of meats, allowing for a true sampling of Turkish flavors. The portions are generous, ensuring no one leaves hungry.

The attentive service shines through, with staff members frequently checking in on guests to ensure everything is satisfactory. Guests appreciate the personal touch from the owner, who often engages with patrons to enhance their experience.

Those with a sweet tooth will be delighted by the complimentary Turkish tea and baklava served after meals, leaving a lasting impression of hospitality and care. This thoughtful gesture often is mentioned in reviews as a reason to return.

Most Disliked

Some diners note that the restaurant can get quite busy, especially on peak days like Thursday evenings, which may lead to a longer wait for tables or service. This popularity, while a testament to its quality, can sometimes detract from the casual experience.

The intimate size of the restaurant means that it may feel a bit cramped during busy times, potentially affecting the overall comfort of diners. While the cozy atmosphere is charming for many, those looking for spacious settings might feel otherwise.

Additionally, while the restaurant offers a diverse menu, a few patrons have commented on the limited vegetarian options in certain categories, particularly in the hot starter section. However, the vegetarian selections on the main menu still receive positive feedback.

This is a hidden little gem in the heart of Borehamwood. The food is fresh and spot on and cooked on the charcoal giving it an authentic flavour, but its the service that wins your heart. The waiters are genuinely concerned about making it a great experience. The tea and baklava thst they give in the end on the house just seals the deal. Amazing place

The food quality was great. We tried meat and vegetarian Musaka and both were one of the best we tried! Definitely recommend and will come back again!

Stopped here for a solo dinner while working in the area — really glad I did. The owner (or manager) was very friendly and welcoming, and made sure I was well looked after. I had the mixed grill, which was excellent — generous portion with a great variety of meats to try, all cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The food overall was great and not terribly priced for the quality and portion size. A very enjoyable experience, and I’d definitely return next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great Turkish food and warm, friendly service.

I went to Likya last weekend with my family and we were so impressed. It is a small and cosy restaurant, but the service could not have been better. The staff were attentive throughout, and even the owner came over personally to make sure we were happy with our food and our order — a gesture that really stood out. The food itself was outstanding. Huge compliments to the chef. Every dish was fresh, full of flavour and beautifully cooked. I was especially pleased to see plenty of vegetarian options, which was something I was concerned about before going. They did not disappoint at all. It is rare to find a place where the combination of food, service and atmosphere all come together so perfectly. I would very happily recommend Likya to my friends and family, and I know we will be returning again soon.

Best Turkish restaurant on the high street for me. Mixed platter for 3-4 people has all bases covered; both shish, both donner, both kofta, chicken wings, lamb ribs, rice, bulger wheat and fresh salad. Service is always fantastic and the complimentary tea, delights and baclava is the perfect finishing touch 🇹🇷 Also if you’re slouched out at home and can’t get to the restaurant the takeaway delivered is top notch, the portions are exceptional 👏

Before you even order you are given freshly made pide bread and dips by friendly and attentiive staff. Which tells me this place is serious about wanting to deliver good food. I wasn't disappointed, everything was well cooked and properly seasoned. Would not hesitate to go again, delicious. Ended the meal with some Turkish tea and complementary baklava & delight.
